Our books support language development in young children—from their first attempts at communication to working on sounds in preschool. The recommended age is indicated on each product page, and the questions below will help you choose according to your child's situation.

All our books are designed by speech-language pathologists. Each story is built around a specific language objective—a sound, vocabulary, or sentence structure—and tested with children. Get to know our authors.

Our books are very popular in daycares and CPEs (early childhood centres) for stimulating sound awareness and aiding pronunciation. You can start with the I Pronounce #1 Set, which contains 5 books.

However, many settings prefer a more comprehensive collection: in this case, the Ultimate Set, which includes all 25 magnetic books, will save you money.

If you would like a box set, choose the Je prononce #1 Box Set. If you prefer to only get one or two books, start with the books from the Vocabulary and phrases collection: Mmm, it's good! and Ouch! That hurts!

All the magnetic books can be interesting. They all work on simple sentence structure. The main components of each sentence are illustrated with pictograms reproduced on magnetic pieces, which makes it easier for the child to participate.

They can then participate in reading by trying to verbalize or by pointing. Each book also has a specific goal. For children who verbalize little, the books Ouch! It hurts! and Mmm, that's good! are particularly popular, as they target everyday vocabulary and themes (body parts, family members, animals, and food).

They also help stimulate all forms of communication: onomatopoeia, pointing to body parts, etc. They are therefore very useful when the goal is to increase communication attempts.

The other books, meanwhile, have specific pronunciation goals.

With a two-year-old, all books can be relevant depending on how you use them. Indeed, you cannot have the same expectations as with an older child. Read one of the books to them regularly, no matter which one, without expecting them to pronounce the words correctly.

Start by drawing the child's attention to the title and how the character positions their mouth on the cover. Show the child how you position your own mouth to produce the sound targeted by the book. Invite them to try. Then emphasize the sound throughout the reading. If the child tries to repeat a few words, show them that you heard them. If they produce the sound correctly, praise them.

Through such reading, the child becomes aware of sounds. This is a skill that awakens both oral and written language.

You probably won't use the magnets at first. You can integrate them later to maintain their interest or as a reinforcer when they have pronounced the words according to the realistic goal you had set.

No – and this is intentional. Our books are language stimulation tools: they complement the work done in speech therapy and give you a concrete way to practice at home, but they do not replace an evaluation or follow-up by a speech therapist. Many speech therapists also use them in their sessions.
